Black Man

Black Man (published as Thirteen in North America) is a 2007 science fiction novel by the English author Richard Morgan. It won the 2008 Arthur C Clarke Award. It is not part of the Takeshi Kovacs universe by the same author. However, there are enough references to shared historical events, such as the colonization of Mars and the use of cryosleep to facilitate space travel, to argue that, Black Man can be seen as a very early prequel to the Takeshi Kovacs novels.
