Bengali Calendar

The Bengali Calendar (Bengali: বঙ্গাব্দ Bônggabdo or বাংলা সন Bangla Shôn) is the sidereal solar used by the Bengali people in their calendar officially used in Bangladesh and West Bengal. The year begins on Pohela or Poila Boishakh, which falls on 14th/15th April according to the tropical calendar in Bengal.

The current Bengali year is 1419. The Bengali year is 594 less than the AD or CE year in the Gregorian year if it is before Pôhela Boishakh, or 593 less after Pôhela Boishakh.
