Like A Version

Like a Version is a segment on the Australian radio station Triple J. It was created by Mel Bampton as part of the Mel in the Morning program. Currently the segment occurs every Friday morning on Triple J's Breakfast show, hosted by Tom Ballard & Alex Dyson. It involves Australian and international artists playing live, acoustic versions of some of their favourite songs. This segment's popularity has led to, so far, the release of eight compilation CDs.

It is very much like Irish Today FM's Even Better Than the Real Thing and has spawned imitations like BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge.

The title is a parody of "Like a Virgin".

Famous quotes containing the words like a and/or version:

No parent should strive to be like another; just like our children, each of us is unique. And just as we love each of our children for being a special person, our children learn to love each of us for being a distinct parent and person.
    Saf Lerman (20th century)

It is never the thing but the version of the thing:
The fragrance of the woman not her self,
Her self in her manner not the solid block,
The day in its color not perpending time,
Time in its weather, our most sovereign lord,
The weather in words and words in sounds of sound.
    Wallace Stevens (1879–1955)
