Each year you may see the same sale in August or September. Almost every store in the known universe will have a sale of school supplies. This cracks me up a little bit, because as I look at what they have to offer, I know most of it is useless. For the most part all your child will need are some notebooks, a book bag, and something to write with. There may be special occasions when they need to get a calculator, a ruler, and some other items for math classes, but for the most part all other school supplies are supplied by the school.
Most of the school supplies I see in the shelf, are more suited for crafts at home. If you’re into crafts, this is a great time to buy up some supplies. Though I don’t know many students who will have to carry their own glued to school, it is always on sale at a ridiculously low price. If you use glue at home for craft projects, this is the best time to buy some up. Last year I believe I saw glue for sale for ten cents at a school supplies sale. I grabbed at least eight bottles of that glue, and I don’t think I will have to get any more until the next time that same sale rolls around.

The belief that all genuine education comes about through experience does not mean that all experiences are genuinely or equally educative.

There are many other school supplies you can use for home crafts as well. I have seen glitter, craft paper, scissors, and special markers on sale. I can’t imagine any child would have to bring these to school themselves, but that doesn’t mean I would not like to buy them to have in my house. Unless your child goes to a school system where there is not a lot of money, and parents are required to supply almost everything, most of the school supplies are something that you do not need to buy unless you want them to have for use in your own home.
If you do have to supply everything for your children, and this sort of expense is no big deal to you, you may want to buy up some extra school supplies to donate to your school. Even if your school does not have a problem with school supplies, this is still something you can do to help save your school budget a little money. Most schools are having some sort of financial problem, and every little bit you can donate helps. If you have some extra money, buying up a lot of school supplies to donate to your child’s class may indeed be an appreciated gesture. You may allow your child’s teacher to do a little more in the classroom than they thought they could afford.
