Education is such a crucial aspect of our development. I think it's safe to say at this point that a poor education will lead you nowhere, literally. In order to succeed in this day and age, you must acquire the finest schooling in your area. Or at least it helps a great deal if you do. If you can't already tell, I take this issue very seriously and so does my wife. We want our daughter to receive the finest education in our area. This is why we took it upon ourselves to research local school rating charts and find out what schools are doing exceptional and which ones are falling behind. We want our child in the best school!

As a parent you have a certain responsibility to your child/children. Obviously you must keep them fed and clothed, but I'm talking more in regards to their future. I'm sure you want them to have a stellar one; most likely one that you feel is better than yours. This is only natural as a parent. We all want our children to surpass us. Well, there is something you can do to assist your children. You can find them the best school! All you need to go about this is a computer with Internet access. All public schools are rated online now days. This is how I pinpointed the school I wanted my daughter attending. Now, I do realize that you might not be willing to move far for a particular school district, but let's think along the lines of your state or county. Research the school rating statistics of your state. Then you can proceed to narrow it down to a specific county. Find out which districts received the best rating for 2007. Single schools will probably be pointed out. Once you've done this, you might want to contact the schools and set up an appointment to see their system. You can most likely meet with the principal and be shown around. The principal will often reveal a lot about the school. Pay attention to how passionate they are.

 Quote of the Day
The proper aim of education is to promote significant learning. Significant learning entails development. Development means successively asking broader and deeper questions of the relationship between oneself and the world. This is as true for first graders as graduate students, for fledging artists as graying accountants.
—Laurent A. Daloz (20th century)

If you think your child's public education is no big deal and any school will do, you're sadly mistaken. There are factors to consider. The location of the school/safety, the ratio of students per teacher, the students' test scores, and the school's budget. Find out which local school is ideal for your child. He/she's worth the effort.
