In high school we all took a foreign language. Remember this routine? It wasn't bad, and we had fun learning something new. Well, at least for the most part. Now days kids are beginning earlier on. My daughter has already acquired some Spanish instruction in the second grade. That's crazy! Wow, our youth is really going to be well-educated! If they're starting this early on, I can't imagine how fluent they will be after college. And then there are those who get so consumed by a foreign tongue that they decide to take it to the next level. Maybe a trip to France for the summer or some language schools Costa Rica style are in order. Either way, this is the core of it all. To truly be outstanding in a foreign language and grasp the dialect, you should consider living in the native area.
I knew a girl in college, who had full intentions of teaching Spanish for a living. She went up to Spanish four in high school, and then proceeded to major in Spanish in college. This of course provided her with years of great foreign language education. But, it wasn't enough for her to be satisfied and hit that teaching level. Therefore she traveled to Mexico for the summer in order to really get a feel for the language and dialect. The following summer it was all about language schools Costa Rica. She picked up some fresh knowledge at a summer school exchange program. Currently she is teaching at her first real job. She found a great position at a high school, which is exactly what she was looking for. Do you share this career goal? I can't say that trips to Mexico or language schools Costa Rica are ideal for me. But then again, I didn't do so well in my last semester of college Spanish.

If you're truly serious about instructing Spanish some day, then you'll need the proper guidance and education first. This means a great deal of studying in addition to some language schools Costa Rica style or maybe a few summers in Spain. At least there are several Spanish speaking countries to choose from. However, you'll want to keep in mind the different dialects when you're learning Spanish. This may have a bearing on who you're teaching in the future.
