There may be many things in life that you want to save forever, and one of them might be your high school year book. This will depend on how much fun you had in school though, as there are many people who really don’t care to remember high school. I don’t have any of my own, but it’s not because I didn’t want any of them. I moved around a lot so I was never around long enough to get one. On occasion I do see a friend from the last school I attended and we look through the book and laugh.
The scary thing about some people is that they live and die by the person they once were. The picture you see of them smiling up for their high school year book is something they treasure. For them, life peaked in high school and they could never move on. Perhaps they were popular, or they were star athletes, and they can’t let go of past glories. When others may get out photo albums to remember great moments, these folks whip out the high school year book and gloat about their accomplishments.

... all my letters are read. I like that. I usually put something in there that I would like the staff to see. If some of the staff are lazy and choose not to read the mail, I usually write on the envelope Legal Mail. This way it will surely be read. Its important that we educate everybody as we go along.

I know a few of these people, and I have to say that they were promising in high school, and they looked like people who would move on to have a good life. I don’t know what happened to them, but they are still living in the same small town, and their high school year book sits upon their coffee table. They held promise, but for some reason they never went anywhere or did anything that would top what is listed about them in the pages of that high school year book that is now over a decade old. Though it is sad that they are like this, in a way, it seems fitting. I guess you get what you deserve.
I remember most of the people in my high school year book class rather fondly, but most of them are not people I talk to in this stage of my life. Though I may have been miserable in high school, I did get along with most of the people I knew. It was matter of knowing that there is more to life, and that I was fully intent on getting out and making something of my life. I think a high school year book is a great memento, but it should never be the sole source of your greatest moments in life.
