Bartender School

Most don’t go into a bartending job thinking they have found a career to last the rest of their life, but if you find the right place to work, you can make some very decent money while doing it. Many like to do this as a second job on the weekends, or they do it to save money for school or even that something special they can’t get on their regular salary. Whatever the reason, there is always a need for bartenders. Those wishing to do this have to know something about mixing drinks, and that is what bartender school is all about.

Most aren’t aware of bartender school, and perhaps that is because most of the time, these courses last just a few weeks. This is great because it won’t cost too much money, and you can actually learn a lot about the art of bartending rather quickly. You can make your money back from the bartender school in no time at all if you work in the right place. Even if you don’t find one of the higher paying jobs, you will still greatly benefit from this endeavor.

 Quote of the Day
There is, I think, no point in the philosophy of progressive education which is sounder than its emphasis upon the importance of the participation of the learner in the formation of the purposes which direct his activities in the learning process, just as there is no defect in traditional education greater than its failure to secure the active cooperation of the pupil in construction of the purposes involved in his studying.
—John Dewey (1859–1952)

Before you jump up and go to bartender school, you should consider a few things about yourself. If you are shy, you aren’t going to be a good bartender. However, some who are shy take on this for the challenge and to learn to interact with others more easily. You have to be patient, and you have to have a good memory. Most people walk up to a bar and order, and then walk away. However, some love to talk with the bartender, and unless you are open to any type of conversation, you may find this type of social interaction too much for you.

You don’t have to go to bartender school to be good at it, of course, and you don’t need it to find a job as a bartender. However, if you have this type of course under your belt, you may be able to get into bars that have a higher earning potential. You can look around online to see if there is a bartender school near you, and you may even find one you can do from home, though I am not entirely sure online classes exist. However, you will find all the information you need about cost and what to expect. This may help you decide if this is something you really want to do after all.
