Anyone thinking of applying to early childhood education colleges in his community has a great opportunity before him. However, there are some things to consider before filling in your application. Teachers who work with very young children have certain qualities and they also don’t bring in a lot of cash. You might find that early childhood education colleges are right for you but, then again, you may not.
I originally thought that I should apply to a high-brow university and study to become a professor. After spending a lot of time and a lot of money on classes and tuition, I found that I would have been better off applying to some of the early childhood education colleges in my area.
The first sign that I should have done this was my performance in child psychology. I loved this course and earned high marks with little effort. I couldn’t say the same for the rest of my classes. One of my professors asked if I was considering transferring to early childhood education colleges as an alternative to the expensive university.
At first I was a little disappointed in the question but considering that the professor was my academic advisor, I figured that I should take her advice. She was really helpful in getting information about early childhood education colleges in the state. This was a great alternative to me flunking out of the university.

I never went near the Wellesley College chapel in my four years there, but I am still amazed at the amount of Christian charity that school stuck us all with, a kind of glazed politeness in the face of boredom and stupidity. Tolerance, in the worst sense of the word.... How marvelous it would have been to go to a womens college that encouraged impoliteness, that rewarded aggression, that encouraged argument.

I guess that I was struggling so much at the school because I was under so much pressure. The cost of tuition was beyond my means and working two jobs while attending classes is very difficult. The early childhood education colleges were much more reasonably priced and one was even in my hometown so I could commute.
After weighing my options I decided to look into the earl childhood education colleges and I immediately fell in love with one of the campuses. I only wished that I would have explored this opportunity when I was a senior in high school. I finished the program with honors and landed a great job.
While I was disappointed that I wasn’t taking the original path that I had imagined, I feel that the change was really good for me. I haven’t let go of my dream of becoming a professor. In fact, I am going to work towards getting a position at one of the early childhood education colleges in my area.
